Let’s keep it real—AI is here. It’s not going anywhere. So instead of fighting it or being afraid of it, we need to ask: how can we use it?
AI is a tool. That’s it. Just like a camera, a pen, or Photoshop. It doesn’t take away your creativity—it gives you a launchpad.
I’ve used AI to help me build storyboards. Not the final version, but a solid starting place. Something to get the ideas flowing. When I was in design school, we used to pull inspiration from magazine clippings, posters, other artists—whatever sparked something. So why is it suddenly wrong to do the same thing with AI?
Some schools are blocking it instead of teaching students how to use it. That’s backwards. Imagine a student having a full conversation with an AI about a book they’re reading. The AI could ask follow-up questions, push their thinking, and help them reflect. That’s not cheating—that’s leveling up comprehension.
I work in film and design. We don’t complain about CGI when it’s creating entire galaxies in Star Wars. Why are people upset when I use AI to help generate ideas or test visuals?
Back in the day, artists painted backgrounds on glass—matte painting—and placed them in front of cameras to create fictional worlds. That was cutting-edge technology at the time. AI is just the next evolution of that creative toolbox.
Every time a new tool shows up—printing press, camera, internet—people panic. And the ones who don’t adapt? They’re the ones who get left behind.
AI isn’t here to replace you. It’s here to work with you. Speed things up. Help you create. Make your ideas sharper. But you’ve got to be willing to learn how to use it.
The old economy is dying.
A new one is being built right in front of us.
The question isn’t if AI or quantum computing will change the world—they already are.
The real question is:
Are you going to sit on the sidelines watching… or are you going to be one of the ones leading the charge?
